First 50 pages GRG's; last 40 Doris' sketches.The Worcesters' were interned by the Japanese 1941-45; Doris died of cancer shortly after release from the concentration camp in Shanghai. A publisher's note indicates the first edition of this book was printed by Kelly & Walsh in Shanghai in 1941, but before it went on sale the Japanese seized the International Settlement of Shanghai and that edition was destroyed. This copy is lightly foxed on jacket flaps, endpapers and top of page block. There is minor wear to board edges, binding tight, content clean and unmarked. The jacket is worn at edges with several small chips and closed tears.
